From8th to 11th May Venice once again becomes a hub for contemporary art with the latest edition of the Pro Biennal,, held in the Spoleto Pavilion atthe Hotel Amadeus, in the heart of the lagoon city. The event, curated by Salvo Nugnes,brings together Italian and international artists in an exhibition that focuses on the expressive power of the works and the variety of contemporary creative languages.
The exhibition offers a programme rich in painting, sculpture, photography, graphic art, poetry and publishing, providing visitors with a direct encounter with different styles, techniques and visions. The works on display reflect diverse artistic sensibilities: from figurative exploration to abstract experimentation, including installations and photographic works capable of interpreting the present through original and personal perspectives.
Particular attention is paid to the artists featured in the event, who come from different countries and are united by a desire to transform art into a tool for cultural dialogue. Each section of the exhibition highlights individual talent and the works’ ability to convey emotions, reflections and new ways of interpreting contemporary reality.
Alongside the art exhibition, there will be contributions from distinguished guests including Pippo Franco, Marco Columbro, Giordano Bruno Guerri, president of the Vittoriale degli Italiani, Silvana Giacobini, Paolo Liguori and the soprano Katia Ricciarelli. Also in attendance will be the actress Marzia Risaliti, the director Giancarlo Scarchilli and the journalist and writer Maddalena Baldini.
The architecture sector will be represented by the archistar Caesar Faiffer, whilst Vanni de Conti will be representing international photojournalism. There will also be a musical programme featuring performances by soprano Tatiana Previati and the tenor Rino Scaturro. Other guests include Luigino Rossi, Gianni Marussi and the RAI journalist Antonietta Di Vizia, alongside numerous leading figures from the cultural scene. There will also be contributions from the public sector, with the participation of the Mayor of Venice, Luigi Brugnaro and the president of the Veneto Region Luca Zaia.
The Pro Biennial thus reaffirms its role as a major international showcase dedicated to contemporary art, capable of highlighting the value of the works on display and the artists’ creative journeys, offering the public an intense and engaging cultural experience in the heart of Venice.
