Art as a bridge of faith and hope: Rome hosts the Art Symposium 2025
19/03/2025 promoted by the Pontifical Academy of Theology (Path) and edited by Salvo Nugnes, celebrates art as a vehicle of peace and spirituality. With important guests such as Mons. Staglianò, Cardinal Reina and Riccardo Muti, the event combines debates, performances and exhibitions, exploring the power of art in dialogue between faith and culture.
The Pontifical Academy of Theology (Path), under the guidance of Mons. Antonio Staglianò, is the scenario of an extraordinary event that combines art, spirituality and social reflection. The'Art Symposium, edited by Salvo Nugnes,is part of the “Artists in Jubilee” programme,, a review desired by the Path and the Church of the Artists of Rome to celebrate the Holy Year through the languages of imagination and
creativity.
An exceptional event between art and faith.
The event, which takes place in the prestigious Path venue, brings together prominent personalities from the cultural, religious and artistic world. Among the guests, are Cardinal Baldassare Reina, vicar general of the diocese of Rome, the journalist and writer Silvana Giacobini, the director of Tgcom24 Paolo Liguori, the famous soprano Rossana Potenza and other illustrious names. To further embellish the program, the contribution of the physicist and scientific popularizer Antono Zichichi and the renowned conductor Riccardo Muti.
Conceived as a space of dialogue and inspiration, the event alternates debates, musical performances and artistic presentationsThe reflection on art as an instrument of transcendence and social cohesion is developed through the words of Monsignor Staglianò. «Artists, believers or non-believers, by crossing the visible with their symbolic language, penetrate the mystery and the invisible».
A thought that is translated into the objective of the meeting: to promote a popular and sapiential theology that uses the languages of painting, music, cinematography and sculpture for a new evangelization.
Art as universal language.
For Salvo Nugnes,, curator of the event, art has the power to overcome borders and cultural differences:
Art speaks directly to the soul, beyond all language barriers. With the Art Symposium we want to celebrate the Jubilee through a universal language of faith, hope and beauty».
An intent that is reflected in the works on displayincluding painting, poetry, photography and sculpture, expressions of a humanity in search of transcendence and harmony in an age marked by uncertainty.
An appointment not to be missed.
The Art Symposium is a crossroads between faith, creativity and society, an opportunity to reflect on the role of art in building bridges between cultures and spirituality..
