Artists for the Jubilee curated by Salvo Nugnes opens in Spoleto with many guests VIP and talented artists

Saturday 5th July 2025, the splendid Church of Misericordia of Spoleto will open its doors to the official inauguration of the exhibition "Artists for the Jubilee", An event of great cultural prestige that brings together some of the brightest personalities of the Italian artistic and intellectual panorama. The initiative, curated by Salvo Nugnes, - affirmed art critic, writer and journalist - was born with the aim of celebrating the Jubilee of 2025 through the universal and powerful language of contemporary art.

The inaugural event will see the participation of numerous talented artists, selected for the quality of their aesthetic research and for the ability to confront the theme of the sacred in an authentic and personal way. The works on display range between painting, sculpture, photography and poetry, giving life to an engaging visual and spiritual path, capable of exciting and making you think.

Next to the artists, there will be important exponents of the cultural and institutional world, scholars, critics, journalists, collectors and representatives of the clergy. An exceptional frame that confirms the high profile of the initiative and the strong link between art and spirituality in the context of the Jubilee.

Salvo Nugnes, in his opening intervention, will emphasize the importance of offering a space to beauty as a tool for dialogue between the human and the divine: "Art has the power to speak where words are not enough. In this time so marked by uncertainties, the artists can offer a profound gaze, a gesture of light that accompanies the soul."

The exhibition, set up in a place full of history and sacredness such as the Church of Mercy, is configured not only as an exhibition, but as a cultural and spiritual experience that will accompany visitors along a path of introspection and renewal.

The inauguration on 5th July will kick off a calendar of appointments and meetings, including the conference on 6th July with Bishop Antonio Staglianò, President of the Pontifical Academy of Theology, and other authoritative figures from the ecclesiastical world. A unique opportunity to rediscover, through art, the profound meaning of Jubilee and Mercy, in a city that has always lived in the sign of beauty and spirituality.
